Places to visit while sailing in Cyclades region

Santorini

Santorini is an island in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km southeast of Greece's mainland. Santorini is also a part of Cyclades group of islands, and one of the best sailing destinations in the Cyclades region. Yachtsmen from all over the world are drawn to Santorini, because of the many things it offers to its visitors. Besides the sun and the sea, yachtsmen who sail in this region can also stop and admire its capitol Fira, which is a vision of dramatic cliffs and pristine whitewashed buildings, or Oia, a village carved out of the cliffs. Or even the coastal village of Kamari that features the beaches and ruins that are typical of Greek islands. Santorini was ranked world's top island for 2011 in Travel+Leisure Magazine, and "the world's best island" by the BBC in 2011.

Mykonos

Mykonos island is situated almost in the centre of the Cyclades complex, and amongst many yachtsmen who visit this region every year, it is known as a destination with cosmopolitan atmosphere, the exciting nightlife, magnificent beaches and the picturesque Cycladic architecture. Mykonos is an island perfect for people of all ages. Yachtsmen who decide to visit Mykonos can enjoy walks along narrow streets of Chora, swim in exotic beaches and see the sunset from Little Venica. During the day, there are many beautiful places to swim, places like Paradise, Super Paradise and Kalo Livadi. And during the night, Mykonos offers many great bars and clubs, restaurants with many home made recipes and magnificent Greek wine.
