Astypalea

Astypalea is a Greek island, and one of twelve Dodecanese Islands. Along with numerous smaller uninhabited offshore islets (the largest of which are Sýrna and Ofidoussa), it forms the Municipality of Astypalaia. Those islets are one of the reasons why yachtsmen find this island and its region interesting to explore. Astypalea is separated into Mesa Nisi (the inner island) and Exo Nisi (the outer island). Top place to visit while cruising in the Astypalea region is the island’s capital town and port Chora. It is one of the most picturesque towns, perched on a rock that advances into the sea, forming two bays, with Chora’s castle on top. Besides inner and outer island which are perfect for exploring from aboard a sailing boat, there is also a beautiful Lagoon Vathy.
