Lefkas
The Ionian Islands are a group of islands located off the west coast of Greece. There are seven main islands. Lefkas is one of the largest islands in Greece famous for its gorgeous beaches. There are three spectacular and worth visiting beaches in Lefkas, Porto Katsiki, Egremni and Kathisma. Porto Katsiki is a well known beach famous for its shape and interesting formation of its coast. Egremni beach is one of the longest in Lefkas, while the Kathisma beach has an ideal position for several water sports. The Monastery of Panagia Faneromeni, which is located on a hill above the town, is the most important religious center in Lefkas. An excellent example of fortress architecture is Agia Mavra Castle, which was constructed with the main aim of protecting the capital.
